Reverend Adrienne Terry

Rev. Terry is an ordained Elder and Deacon in the United Methodist Church, and serves as a colloquy leader on the faculty of Wesley Theological Seminary-Urban Ministry Program in the Practice in Mission and Ministry program.

As an active member of the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church, she currently serves on the Bishops Council and on the Connectional Giving subcommittee of the Council on Finance and Administration.  Rev. Terry has been involved in training church leaders as a member of the Commission on Race and Religion, and worked on the Committee on Children and Poverty, and Black Methodists for Church Renewal. 

Rev. Terry is passionate about issues pertaining to women, children, poverty, and HIV-AIDS.  She is recognized for her life-long commitment and advocacy for their concerns.  Her service has been acknowledged by both community organizations and the federal government. While serving on the Washington Columbia District, she led a night-time ministry in partnership with H.I.P.S. (Helping Individual Prostitutes Survive), a non-profit organization that reaches out to and assists teenage prostitutes.  She also participated with churches in an effort to provide a monthly breakfast to over 300 homeless women and men. 

Rev. Terry has many favorite scriptures, and lives by the motto, "Only what you do for Christ will last."
